I enjoyed all the characters that make up Monsters iNK, a company of players who both run a playhouse in Adelaide, Australia, and who offer sanctuary to shifters and 'Blood-kin' in need of protection. I just wish Ms. Cooper had spent a bit more time on introducing all of the characters. Perhaps as she develops the series, we'll get meet and see more of them, since they all seem like a cool bunch of people.When the story opens up, the company is in preparation for a new show called 'Dracula-revamped', which would be a cool thing to actually see, I think. The main story centers on Jaidan, a vampire-hybrid who is both vegetarian and squeamish around blood, and Leydan, a cat shifter who lands unexpectedly in his life.
Leydan, it turns out, is on the run from some unnamed menace when he appears in the middle of Monsters, iNK, with a nasty torture collar around his neck and on a special mission which will affect everyone on Earth.
What I liked:
The company as a whole. All the characters are interesting, I just wish we could have spent more time with the lot of them.
The relationship between Jaiden and Leydan is sweet, if a bit perfunctory, but this is a "mate" situation where the pair know it belongs together regardless of how long they've known each other.
What I didn't:
Some of the description fell a little short. I would have like more information about the other characters in the company, but like I said above, maybe more of that will come with the later stories.
The battle scene is confusing to follow, but such scenes aren't easy to write, so I'm not too upset about that.
On the whole, an enjoyable story and I will be reading the next one in the series.

Enjoyed this one and the others in the series so far. Fun characters and well written. Excited for the next book!
